I have just received the following email from Clive Woods, the WARD Research Officer and Chairman of Aireborough Civic Society, which I feel is highly relevant to our campaign for infrastructure improvements before further housing development is permitted in our area. See below:
Elizabeth Hunter, Transport Strategy Manager, Leeds City Council, will be talking about ‘Transport Strategy for Leeds’ on April 15th, 10am til 12noon, at the Grove Centre, New Sreet, Horsforth. Entry is open to anyone, there will be a charge of £1.50 but tea/coffee is included. The talk will be followed by discussion.
This should be a useful meeting and an opportunity to find out just what improvements Leeds City Council intends to make to transport in our area as part of its proposals to build over 2,300 new dwellings here. Also to make them take our congestion problems more seriously.
It would be great if we could have a really good turnout at this meeting to show how strongly we care about the impact of further development upon the already congested A65, the Leeds Outer Ring Road and the A658.
