Kelda submitted their first application for 7 turbines to Harrogate Borough Council on Friday 3 August. The site notices were erected on Friday 10 August and, at this time, objections will be received up until 31 August 2012.
Information on the planning application and on how to object has been posted to the following website
Apart from Save the Dales supporters, many people believe that there is no need to act as somebody else will, the reality is that only an unprecedented number of objections will provide the ammunition needed. If you have strong objections your support is needed now. Harrogate Planning Department need to hear all your voices to help us fight this battle. Please use the above link to register your protest and do it now! Time is short and all objections must be in by 31 August 2012 as already stated. This is only the first of many wind turbine applications planned for scenic parts of our county in the future. Soundings are being taken for wind turbines overlooking three historic abbeys, Bolton, Rievaulx and Jervaulx and if the Penny Pot Lane application is successful this will act as a precedent and make it easier for developers of wind turbines to destroy these important historical and incredibly beautiful parts of Yorkshire. ACT NOW to help us prevent this environmental disaster!
