Taylor Wimpey attempts major greenspace land grab in Cookridge

Cookridge Residents Action Group (CRAG)

A group of Cookridge residents have formed the above action group in a concerted effort to prevent the development of greenfield land to the West of Moseley Wood Gardens.  The land in question is the subject of a determined attempt by Taylor Wimpey to obtain outline planning permission for an excessive number of houses on this designated P.A.S. (protected area of search) land.

This is yet another example of a major developer attempting to use planning legislation to release further precious green space rather than developing land for which they already have permission and so continue with the iniquitious practice of land-banking.  The WARD organisation has offered its wholehearted support to the Cookridge residents and will do everything in its power to assist this group in their efforts to resist this unwelcome development which will have an undesirable impact upon the transport and social infrastructure of the area.  The group will also receive support from the new Yorkshire Greenspace Alliance – a network of community groups from across the county.
